All For Love
L-O-V-E.
One word. Four simple letters. The reason for everything.
Think about it, at the end of the day, everything that Jesus did, everything He stood for, and everything He was [is and will forever be] can be wrapped up in this one simple word: LOVE.
No matter how hard we try, I don’t think we can ever truly grasp how relentless, how unconditional, how persistent God’s love is for us because this kind of love is so foreign to us. Here on earth, our love and our love for others is completely conditional. It comes and goes according to what happens in us or what happens to us. But not so with God. He loves us unconditionally, in spite of all of our mess ups, hang ups, and screw ups.
I truly believe the Bible is not a book full of rules or regulations. The Bible is God's love letter to humanity. Everything in the Bible, from the very beginning till the very end can all be summed up in this: ALL. FOR. LOVE.
Not only does God love us, but God IS love. He doesn't just give it, He IS it! So, if you’re having trouble loving the people in your life, here’s two tips! 1) Remember how much God loves you, regardless of what you’ve done, what you’re doing, or what you’re going to do. 2) Remember that He is love and He can help you love others.
1 John 4:7-8 it says, “Beloved, let us love one another, for love is of God; and everyone who loves is born of God and knows God. He who does not love does not know God, for God is love.”
Today I pray that God would help our heads and our hearts to comprehend His amazing love for us. I pray that we would be so overwhelmed with the love that He was given us, even when we don’t deserve it, that we can’t help but share His love with anyone and everyone that we meet!
I want to challenge you today, start going through the scriptures and read everything through the lens of love. You’ll not only begin to see God in a new light, you'll also begin to see yourself in a new light and those around you as well.
